Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in our coaching sessions?

An initial "chemistry meeting" is scheduled via the phone. Once we agree to work together, any assessments that may guide the process will be conducted and reviewed and then the process begins. Usually a coaching experience includes a meeting once per week or every two weeks, either over the phone or online, and includes any needed follow up emails. Accountability is key to the success of the coaching-both for the coach and for the client. Homework may be recommended and is useful for helping the client hone in on their goals. An executive coaching or personal coaching experience generally requires between 3-6 months, at a minimum, to demonstrate its effectiveness and return on your investment.

What is the difference between coaching and counseling?

Counseling often focuses on healing past issues or current symptoms that contribute to a client's distress. Through the therapist's support and therapeutic techniques, individuals are helped to function better emotionally, cognitively, and/or relationally over time.

Coaching is designed for those feeling stable in their lives and functioning well emotionally. The focus is more on the present and the future, supporting individuals ready to access their strengths in order to gain traction toward their goals. Coaching uses tools such as inquiry, reflection, assessment and learning. These lead to self-awareness, moving past blocks, and often exponential growth and success. Coaching is collaborative and taps your knowledge and wisdom about your life. You are the expert...supported by the encouragement and knowledge of your coach to help you reach your vision.

What are the benefits of coaching?

There are numerous benefits to coaching including: clarified vision, increased life satisfaction, enhanced well-being, enriched relationships, increased creativity, and deepened sense of meaning and purpose.  Coaching also can lead to goal fulfillment, improved productivity, increased abundance and success (as defined by you), innovative leadership, and groups working together more collaboratively.
